Imlil, the village at the foot of Mount Toubkal
At 1,740 m, about 65 km south of Marrakech, Imlil is the starting point of the Toubkal ascent and of countless walks in the High Atlas. It is also our home valley.
The village sits in a green valley of walnut and apple trees, terraced fields and stone houses, surrounded by peaks that stay white until late spring. Mule paths lead to Aroumd, Tamatert and the Imnane valley, or up to the refuges below Toubkal.
You can come for a day from Marrakech, walk for a few days from village to village, or climb Toubkal (4,167 m) in two or three days. Riad Berber Towers, our riad in Imlil, is the perfect base before and after the climb.
